Re: Draw Tite 75270 hitch for 2006 Honda Odyssey. I've installed a few trailer hitches in my life. This is the only one I have ever had a problem with. First, this arrived with no packaging. They had shipped it with just a label zip tied onto the unit. It arrived with lots of dings and scrapes in the paint. There was a plastic bag with the hardware that had been taped to the receiver itself that had busted open during shipping and of course, some of the hardware had fallen out and was missing. The biggest problem though came when I went to install the unit. There was no instructions. Also, you have to remove or lower the vehicle exhaust to get the .hitch into position. Once I did all this and put the unit up under the frame to be bolted in, I could see that only 5 of the six holes in the hitch lined up with the holes in the frame of the vehicle. One of the holes was an inch off and would not line up. I purchased the vehicle new, and it has never been wrecked so I know the vehicle frame was correct. It appeared the hitch had been welded up with one of the sides welded at the wrong angle and not parallel to the opposite side. My tape measure confirmed my suspicions.
There was also a hanger that was welded onto the vehicle that hangs down to support the exhaust. The hitch had a cut out in it to go around the exhaust hanger, but the cut out was in the wrong place. Sending it back was not an option as I was leaving to go out of town and had to get this on the vehicle to pull a trailer. My only option was to get out the grinder and grind away part of the hitch to go around the exhaust hanger. Once I did this I got 5 of the bolts / washers installed, but the 6th bolt was not even close to lining up. After using a hydraulic press to bend the hitch, I finally got it close enough where I could open up the hole on the hitch with a bigger drill bit and get the bolt started. After installing the unit, I was very disappointed in how low the hitch hung down from the vehicle. It sits about two inches below the rear bumper and does not have a factory installed look. Because it sits so low, I had to buy a six inch drop for the ball and flip it over upside down to get enough rise to pull the little utility trailer even close to level. The sides of the main tube are open and not covered / finished as they should be. Do not buy this hitch. Spend another $20 and buy the Curt hitch as it is a superior product. Draw-tite used to be a great name in trailer hitches. Never again will I buy one.

IMPORTANT: When reading all these reviews, many people mention getting a 12mm x 1.25 tap to clean out the bolt holes. DO THIS! Cost me $7 at local Ace Hardware and was well worth it. Took me longer to spray down the mounting holes with WD-40 and tap them clean then it took me to install the hitch.
Like others mentioned, hitch was delivered without packaging. Ours arrived with three small scratches that I quickly covered with black Rustoleum. I took the time to watch (2) installation videos on YouTube, this was very helpful. Once the bolt holes were clean, installation took about 20 minutes. I did not need to drop the exhaust pipe.
Once installed the hitch looks very nice on my wife's 2010 Honda Odyssey

Definitely did not come with installation hardware. I triple-checked all the packaging and had others check as well. Luckily the hardware store is close by. Best case, you'll need six M12x1.25x4mm bolts and appropriate washers. Why "best case"? Read below.

Next: "doesn't fit". We have a 2010 Honda Odyssey. Four of the install holes lined up with the pre-tapped anchor points in the Odyssey frame. The rear two slots on the hitch do not align; both mount brackets of the hitch cover 1/2 the thread point on the Odyssey frame, and in opposite directions - meaning I can't slide the hitch in one direction or another to make the install points line up. No amount of shifting or sliding would allow the slots to align.

We're hauling bikes on a bike rack. Four successful anchors is all I need for that job. Neither boat nor camper are in my future.

PRO TIP: yes, the install will be fast if the hardware is included. Make it easy on yourself and get an exhaust hanger tool. You've already spent $120 on the hitch, so spend the extra $14 to make the install even simpler.

PRO TIP No. 2: The actual installation of the hitch will be quick, if you have hardware. Spend ten minutes beforehand with spray-lubricant (WD40 for example) and a bottle brush cleaning out the mount points on the van. Those things are full of grit and dirt and will bind the bolts. Spray->brush-> ->bolt-in->bolt-out, and repeat the cycle four or five times. It's tedious and frustrating, and so very worth the effort.

I'll be brief.

Hitch had some spots i had to grind down with angle grinder so it would sit flat. Burrs from cutting holes and welding splatter.

Horrible shipping, shipped in saran wrap (i bought from third party). some paint is off the hitch, not too big of a deal, its a hitch, it's not a show car.

Installation. Pretty quick once you figure out how to remove that plastic panel on drivers side.
Do not remove muffler. Set the hitch on the muffler, then install bolts into drivers side. Then install bolts on passenger side. Push exhaust towards drivers side, and then hold it in place with a jack to get clear access to bolts on passenger side.

Also, if you are going to tow anything, definitely install the transmission cooler, and changed your transmission fluid at least every 30,000 miles like the service manual says.

Haven't used it yet, just wanted to post these installation tips.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bar, installation can be challenging

The tow bar itself is perfect. However do not be deceived by instructions that indicate this is a simple 15 minute installation. You will need room to get under your vehicle. In the case of my Honda Odyssey van it meant permanently removing a rear panel from the underside.
The most challenging portion is getting the bolts into the frame. Unless your vehicle is brand new, the reality is that the existing nuts on the underside of your vehicle will be full of dirt, rocks and rust. You will need a small round wire brush, a bottle of wd40 and a lot of patience to chase these bolts into the underside of the vehicle.
Getting the vehicle prepped for this installation took close to two hours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fit Well, looks good.

Product fit well and looks good on our vehicle.
Easily installs with hardware provided.
As others have mentioned ,cleaning the rustand dirt off the threads is vital for the bolts to go in properly without stripping.
I needed to buy a wire brush drill attachment to clean out the holes as our car is a 2013 that never had a hitch on it.
once the rust was removed, the install was easily done.

It was easy to install but make sure you have proper tools I gave 4 star for value for money because seller didn't send all the bolts so I have to look around which wasted my 4 hours of time and cost me only 12 dollars. Seller please add 12 dollars more with ur product and send all parts my 4 hours worth more than $12.
Rest everything was awesome I put my bike rack on with 4 bikes made a 4 hour small road trip it worked perfectly fine happy with my purchase. Highly Recommending

4.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected but it turned out well

Product came with paint chips and some poorly touched up areas. After some discussion with the sender, we agreed upon a settlement and it's now installed on my van. Good customer service. After buying a can of spray paint for this type of application I'm hoping the rust takes a long while to start showing. It always seems it's only a matter of time for all hitches to rust. Install was as expected. There was a YouTube video that helped to explain the steps.
